Q 1.10: Give the significance of a ‘lattice point’.
Solution:
Each lattice point represents one constituent particles of crystal. Particles of a solid may be an atom, a molecule, or an ion.

    It is a point seen at the intersection of two or more grid lines in a point lattice. A lattice is a set/group of points in same location.
    OR
    Each lattice point represents one constituent particles of crystal. Particles of a solid may be an atom, a molecule, or an ion.
    OR
    A lattice point represents a constituent particle in a crystal lattice and when lattice points are joined by straight lines, they bring out the geometry of lattice.
