What is the role of the brain in reflex action

Q. No. 5: What is the role of the brain in reflex action?
Ans: Reflex actions are sudden responses. It is involuntary action which does not involve thinking. For example, when we touch a hot object, we withdraw our hand immediately without thinking.  The sensory nerves that detect the heat are connected to the nerves that move the muscles of the hand. Such a connection of detecting the signal from the nerves (input) and responding to it quickly (output) is known as reflex arc. Reflex arcs are formed in the spinal cord and the information reaches the brain and the brain responses to it.

    4. Brain has no direct involvement in reflex action. the reflex action is mainly controlled by spinal cord ,as these actions do not involved thinking and are very quick in action only the information about signal and response that takes place reaches the brain .the brain, as such ,has no role in reflex action

    1. You are wrong actually if the brain will not get the information only you will not come to know what happened. Spinal cord takes decision so body part does not gets harm but brain is still informed.

  4. Brain does not play any role in reflex action but controls the movement made by the reflex action . This indirectly it plays an role in reflex action

    1. Brain does not control reflex movement rather the sensory nerves do directly....the brain just gets the information afterwards so that we perceive the action as it is.

  9. Well as we know spinal chord acts as a semiautonomus organ at a time of rflx action it responds to stumli but it us upto brain to order any part to act independently hance brain hasan inderect role in reflx action
