Question 4.26: The decomposition of hydrocarbon follows the equation  k = (4.5 × 1011 s−1) e−28000 K/T Calculate Ea.
Answer
Given that
k = (4.5 × 1011 s−1) e−28000 K/T
Arrhenius equation is given by,

Plug the values of R we get
Ea= 8.314 J K−1 mol−1 × 28000 K = 232792 J mol−1
Divide by 1000 to convert in KJ we get
= 232.792 kJ mol−1
Answer
Activation energy Ea = 232.792 kJ mol−1
