List all the elements of the following sets

List all the elements of the following sets:

(i) A = {x: x is an odd natural number}
(ii) B = {x: x is an integer, ½ < x < 9/2 }
(iii) C = {x: x is an integer, x2 ≤ 4} }
(iv) D = {x: x is a letter in the word “LOYAL”}
(v) E = {x: x is a month of a year not having 31 days}
(vi) F = {x: x is a consonant in the English alphabet which proceeds k}.
Answer
(i)A = {x: x is an odd natural number}
Odd natural number are 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 …
Hence A = {1, 2, 3, 4 ..........}

(ii) B = {x: x is an integer; , ½ < x < 9/2 }
It can be observe that ½ = 0.5 and 9/2 = 4.5 , integer number between 0.5 and 4.5 are 1,2,3, and 4
Hence B = {1, 2, 3, 4}

(iii) C = {x: x is an integer; x2 ≤ 4} }
Given that x2 ≤ 4 taking root both sides we get - 2 ≤ x ≤ 2
Integers number between and including -2 and 2 are -2, -1, 0, 1, and 2
Hence C = {-2, -1, 0, 1, 2}

(iv) D = (x: x is a letter in the word “LOYAL”)
Word LOYAL has alphabet L, O, Y and A
Hence D = {L, O, Y, A}

(v) E = {x: x is a month of a year not having 31 days}
Month of year having 31 days are February, April, June, September and November.
Hence E= {February, April, June, September, November}

(vi) F = {x: x is a consonant in the English alphabet which precedes k} = {b, c, d, f, g, h, j}
Consonant in the English alphabet before alphabet k are b, c, d, f, g, and j.
Hence E = {b, c, d, f, g, h, j}

    1. In the question they have asked about consonant before k.
      In our alphabet system we start from a,b,c.........j.
      But they have asked about consonants and a,e,i,o,u are vowels not consonants.So the resultant will be {b,c,d,f,g,h,j}
