Question 10. Why is respiration considered an exothermic reaction? Explain.
Answer:
Respiration is considered as an exothermic reaction because in respiration oxidation of glucose takes place which produces large amount of heat energy. This is shown in following chemical equation.

    1. Respiration is considered as exothermic reaction because heat is released during this process.the food we take contains carbohydrates in it. These carbohydrates combine with oxygen which is present in our blood cells. While this process heat is released. E.g C6H12O6 + 6O2=6CO2 +6H²O + Heat
