1. A solution of a substance ‘X’ is used for white washing.
(i) Name the substance ‘X’ and write its formula.
(ii) Write the reaction of the substance ‘X’ named in (i) above with water.
(i) Name the substance ‘X’ and write its formula.
(ii) Write the reaction of the substance ‘X’ named in (i) above with water.
Answer:
(i)The substance ‘X’ which is used in white washing is calcium oxide or quick lime and its formula is CaO.
(i)The reaction involved is
(i)The reaction involved is
please tell the reaction of CaO with water used for whitewashing
ReplyDeleteThe above given reaction is used in white washing
DeleteThe above given reaction is used in white washing
DeleteCaO+H2O->Ca(OH)2 this is the reaction of CaP with water
DeleteWhen CaO+H2O-Ca(OH)2 is the reaction evolved when Cao is put into water
DeleteTaat e hatti
DeleteWhen Calcium oxide or quick lime is reacted with water .Eq is as follows:
DeleteCaO+H2O gives Ca(OH)2 + heat
Cao+H2o=Ca(OH)2+heat is produced
DeleteAnd this is a chemical reaction characterised by change in temperature.
Cao+H2o =Ca (OH)2 + heat
DeleteCa(OH)2 i.e,slaked lime is used for white washing.
DeleteAre bhai H2O water he hai
DeleteCombination reaction bro
DeleteCa(OH)2
DeleteCao Reacts with Water to Form Calcium Hydroxide Ca(OH)2
ReplyDeletewhat is chemistry of whitewashing??
DeleteBiology
DeleteCao Reacts with Water to Form Calcium Hydroxide Ca(OH)2
ReplyDeleteYa but how its happen
DeleteYes Vilakshan, u r right
ReplyDeletePage 7 of ncert class 10 science says caoh2 is used.
ReplyDeleteYou are saying the right .Same sentence is in the text book in a column
DeletePage 7 of ncert class 10 science says caoh2 is used.
ReplyDeleteExactly hiten I had my exam today I wrote ca(oh)2 will I lose marks
ReplyDeleteYes idiot
DeleteNo it is also correct
DeleteThen what answer we have to write if it gives in exam
DeleteNo
DeleteHow can it be Cao it is clearly given in the ncert textbook that it is calcium hydroxide
ReplyDeleteExactly
DeleteIt is given in the textbook that the solution of calcium hydroxide is use for white washing. So how it can be true that the solution of calcium oxide is use for white washing??
ReplyDeleteStudy properly useless fellows
ReplyDeleteChl be chupe
DeleteYou study properly . Idiot
DeleteSo wat is te ansssss
ReplyDelete😮
CaO reacts with water to form Ca(OH)2 which is limewater. we apply it on walls and it reacts with atmospheric CO2 to give CaCO3 and water. the water evaporates leaving behind the calcium carbonate which is white in colour and whitewashes the walls.
DeletePlease let me know why kattappa killed bahubali
ReplyDeleteSee the movie ..Get to know your answer... Bahubali 2😑😑😑
DeleteI had seen it but doesn't get the answer
DeleteCa(oh)2 is slaked lime. Lime water is Ca(OH)2.H2O
ReplyDeleteWhen cao dissolved in water it become cao + h20 ---> ca(oh)2. Then this ca(oh)2 is applied on wall then it react with co2 in air to form caco3.
ReplyDeleteCa(oh)2 + co2 ---> caco3.
Can someone please tell the answer of above. Because of no. 7 of ncert says that a solution
ReplyDeleteslaked line is used for white washing walls
Can someone please tell the answer of above. Because of no. 7 of ncert says that a solution
ReplyDeleteslaked line is used for white washing walls
U fellows, in ncert it is given that slaked lime is used for white washing...
ReplyDeleteYes it is used in white washing.
ReplyDeleteIt's right.
You are right my friend . Its CaO which is used for white washing
ReplyDeleteThanks for the answer
ReplyDeleteThanks for answers
ReplyDeleteAin't ca(oh)2 used for white washing ??!!!!!
