Give reasons why copper is used to make hot water tanks and not steel (an alloy of iron).

Quesiton 16. Give reasons why copper is used to make hot water tanks and not steel (an alloy of iron).
Answer:
Copper is used to make hot water tanks and not steel this is because the iron (in steel) is more reactive than then copper also it react with hot steam to produce ferrosoferric oxide. Due to which the body of tank will become weaker and weaker. While copper does not react with hot water.

  4. Copper is used to make hot water tanks and not steel (an alloy of iron) because copper is a good conductor of electricity. Moreover, It doesn't react with hot water!

  7. Alloys like stainless steel donot oxide easily in high temp and alloys are less (very less) reactive.. so there is no possible way your explanation is corrrect
