English speaking day 59 Transitive and Intransitive with Hindi explanation and exercise.

Transitive verbs are called सकर्मक क्रिया (Sakarmak Kriya). Transitive verbs are those verbs which use a subject and one or more objects.जिस क्रिया से सूचित होने वाला व्यापार कर्ता करे और उसका फल भी कर्ता पर ही पड़े, उसे अकर्मक क्रिया कहते हैं। जैसे- राम खाता है। वाक्य में खाने का व्यापार राम से है और खाने का फल भी राम पर ही पड़ता है, इसलिए 'खाता है' अकर्मक क्रिया है। 

जैसे “राहुल ने केला खाया।”इस वाक्य में राहुल कर्ता है, खाया क्रिया है, और केला यहां पर कर्म है। लेकिन यह कौन सी क्रिया है सकर्मक या अकर्मक ? क्योंकि इस वाक्य में कर्ता क्रिया और कर्म तीनो उपस्थित हैं तो यहाँ सकर्मक क्रिया है।

सकर्मक क्रिया और अकर्मक क्रिया में अंतर :-

सकर्मक क्रिया-अकर्मक क्रिया

1. इसमें कर्ता, क्रिया और कर्म तीनों उपस्थित होते हैं। 1. इसमें कर्ता और क्रिया तो होते हैं, लेकिन कर्म नहीं होता।

2. इसमें कर्ता द्वारा किए गए कार्य से कोई दूसरी चीज प्रभावित होती है 2. इसमें कर्ता द्वारा किए गए कार्य से किसी और चीज पर कोई प्रभाव नहीं पड़ता है।

3. जैसे– नरेंद्र खाता है। 3. जैसे– नरेंद्र खाना खाता है।

In Hindi, the transitive verbs can be differentiated from the intransitive verbs by “क्या” (Kya – What), किस (Kis – What/Who) and किसको (Kisko – Whom).

Questions can be formed by  कौन + कर्म + क्रिया ? – Who + verb? . The answer is the कर्ता (Karta) – Subject.

And,  क्या + क्रिया ? – Who + verb? or क्या + क्रिया? – Whom + verb? –  The answer is the कर्म (Karm) – Object.Transitive verbs in Hindi are of two types. These are:

एककर्मक क्रिया – Ekkarmak Kriya

These transitive verbs require only one objects. Some of the examples are:

1. बच्चे फुटबाल खेल रहे है। – Here, फुटबाल (Futball – Football) is the object.
2. माता बटन लगा रही है।- Here, बटन (Batan – Button) is the object.

द्विकर्मक क्रिया – Dvikarmak Kriya

These transitive verbs require two objects. Some of the examples are:

माता पुत्र को दूध पिलाती है। – Here, पुत्र (Putr – Son) and दूध (Dudh – Milk) are the objects.

1. She advised me to consult a doctor. (Transitive)  उसने मुझे डॉक्टर से सलाह लेने की सलाह दी। (सकर्मक)
2. Let’s invite your cousins as well. (Transitive)  अपने चचेरे भाइयों को भी आमंत्रित करें। (सकर्मक)
3. I waited for an hour. (Intransitive). मैंने एक घंटे तक इंतजार किया। (अकर्मक)
4. I received your letter in the morning. (Transitive)  मुझे आपका पत्र सुबह मिला। (सकर्मक)
5. A flock of birds is flying over our heads.(Intransitive).पक्षियों का झुंड हमारे सिर के ऊपर से उड़ रहा है।
6. I am going to send her some flowers. (Transitive)  मैं उसे कुछ फूल भेजने जा रहा हूं। (सकर्मक)
7. We laughed so hard that we could not talk for a few minutes.(Intransitive). हम इतनी मेहनत से हँसे कि हम कुछ मिनटों तक बात नहीं कर सके।
8. He has changed a lot since he got married. (Intransitive)  उन्होंने शादी के बाद से बहुत कुछ बदल दिया है। (अकर्मक)
9. We also sang a few songs though we were not good at it. (Intransitive). हमने कुछ गाने भी गाए हालांकि हम इसमें अच्छे नहीं थे।
10. Suddenly the child woke up. (Intransitive) .अचानक बच्चा जाग गया। (अकर्मक)
11. We smiled at each other for encouraging each other. (Intransitive). हम एक-दूसरे को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए एक-दूसरे पर मुस्कुराए।
12. Let’s discuss your plans.(Transitive).अपनी योजनाओं पर चर्चा करते हैं। (सकर्मक)
13. We wept together when one of us was in pain. (Intransitive). हम एक साथ रोए थे जब हम में से एक दर्द में था।
14. We slept together feeling the warmth of each other.(Intransitive). हम एक दूसरे की गर्मी महसूस कर एक साथ सो गए।
15. I heard a lovely song in the morning. (Transitive)  मैंने सुबह एक प्यारा सा गीत सुना। (सकर्मक)
16. We went to many places together.(Intransitive).हम एक साथ कई जगहों पर गए।
17. Can you lend me a few pounds? (Transitive)  क्या आप मुझे कुछ पाउंड उधार दे सकते हैं? (सकर्मक)
18. The wind was blowing fiercely. (Intransitive)  हवा जमकर बह रही थी। (अकर्मक)
19. We stayed in Atlanta for many years.(Intransitive). हम कई वर्षों तक अटलांटा में रहे।(अकर्मक)
20. Albert was making an umbrella.(Transitive) अल्बर्ट छाता बना रहा था।(सकर्मक)
21. When he came here, I was having my brunch.(Transitive) जब वह यहां आया, मैं अपनी ब्रंच कर रहा था।(सकर्मक)
22. Then we moved to Chicago for a better life.(Intransitive). फिर हम बेहतर जीवन के लिए शिकागो चले गए।(अकर्मक)
23. After coming here, he prepared lunch for us.(Transitive) यहां आने के बाद उन्होंने हमारे लिए लंच तैयार किया।(सकर्मक)
24. We were young and we ran towards success.(Intransitive). हम युवा थे और हम सफलता की ओर भाग रहे थे।(अकर्मक)
25. I could not do it since I caught a cold last night.(Transitive) मैं ऐसा नहीं कर सकता था क्योंकि मैंने कल रात एक ठंडी पकड़ ली थी।(सकर्मक)
26. I bought some medicine yesterday but did not take them without doctor’s confirmation.(Transitive).मैंने कल कुछ दवाई खरीदी लेकिन डॉक्टर की पुष्टि के बिना उन्हें नहीं लिया।(सकर्मक)
27. Albert gave me some chocolate on that day.(Transitive).अल्बर्ट ने उस दिन मुझे कुछ चॉकलेट दी।(सकर्मक)
28. He did not show me the chocolate until I begged him to do so.(Transitive)उसने मुझे चॉकलेट तब तक नहीं दिखाई जब तक मैंने उससे ऐसा करने की भीख नहीं मांगी।(सकर्मक)
29. I could not believe that he could bring chocolates for me.(Transitive).मुझे विश्वास नहीं हो रहा था कि वह मेरे लिए चॉकलेट ला सकता है।(सकर्मक)
30. We dreamt of many things together.(Intransitive). हमने एक साथ कई चीजों का सपना देखा।(अकर्मक)
31. I offered him some juice when he arrived home.(Transitive).घर पहुंचने पर मैंने उसे कुछ जूस दिया।(सकर्मक)
32. Though he offended my feelings, I feel sorry for him.(Transitive) हालांकि उसने मेरी भावनाओं को आहत किया, लेकिन मुझे उसके लिए खेद है।(सकर्मक)
33. Leave me a message if you don’t find me here.(Transitive) यदि आप मुझे यहां नहीं पाते हैं तो मुझे एक संदेश छोड़ दें।(सकर्मक)
34. I have invented a method to cool the nerve.(Transitive) मैंने तंत्रिका को ठंडा करने के लिए एक विधि का आविष्कार किया है।(सकर्मक)

39. Samantha borrowed some money from me last year.(Transitive).सामंथा ने पिछले साल मुझसे कुछ पैसे उधार लिए थे।(सकर्मक)
40. Don’t just sit there idly.(Intransitive). सिर्फ वहीं बैठना नहीं चाहिए।(अकर्मक)
41. I was lying on the bed when you were having fun in the club.(Intransitive). जब आप क्लब में मस्ती कर रहे थे तो मैं बिस्तर पर पड़ा था।(अकर्मक)
42. We walked a lot together and we want to do it forever.(Intransitive). हम एक साथ बहुत चले और हम इसे हमेशा के लिए करना चाहते हैं।(अकर्मक)
43. Though we could not reach our dreams, we are happy.(Intransitive). हालांकि हम अपने सपनों तक नहीं पहुंच पाए, लेकिन हम खुश हैं।(अकर्मक)
44. I lent her money since she was in great need.(Transitive).मैं उसके पैसे उधार दे दिया क्योंकि वह बहुत जरूरत थी।(सकर्मक)
45. You should not lie when someone asks you a serious question.(Intransitive). जब कोई आपसे कोई गंभीर सवाल करे तो आपको झूठ नहीं बोलना चाहिए।(अकर्मक)
46. My chickens are laying eggs now.(Transitive).मेरी मुर्गियां अब अंडे दे रही हैं।(सकर्मक)
47. Raise your hands if you want to help us with this project.(Transitive).यदि आप इस परियोजना में हमारी सहायता करना चाहते हैं तो अपने हाथ उठाएँ।(सकर्मक)
48. The water level is rising day by day and it’s alarming.(Intransitive). जल स्तर दिन-प्रतिदिन बढ़ रहा है और यह खतरनाक है।(अकर्मक)
49. We got up in the morning and prepared ourselves for the tour.(Intransitive). हम सुबह उठे और खुद को दौरे के लिए तैयार किया।(अकर्मक)
50. I could not study last night because of this horrible weather. (Intransitive). मैं इस भयानक मौसम के कारण कल रात अध्ययन नहीं कर सका।(अकर्मक)
51. They helped us to build our new home and we are grateful for it.(Transitive).उन्होंने हमें अपना नया घर बनाने में मदद की और हम इसके लिए आभारी हैं।(सकर्मक)
52. The river flows furiously in this time of the year.(Intransitive). नदी वर्ष के इस समय में उग्र रूप से बहती है।(अकर्मक)
