She overfed Tricki. She showed her concern by giving him rich and extra diet between meals which finally made Tricki ill. She couldn’t bear Tricki doing exercise. She thought that it would make Tricki tired while it was necessary for him. She was really a loving lady as the news about the surgery of her pet dog shocked her and her eyes brimmed with tears. She could not refuse delicious and favourite food to Tricki which made him overweight and inactive.
She had a wardrobe of clothes for every season, different bowls for each meal, toys and what not. Her way of loving was not normal. But she was also a kind- hearted lady who finally burst into tears while parting with her dog. She had all human qualities as she didn’t forget to thank Mr Herriot at the end.

Answer:-Tricki was a small dog. His rich mistress pampered him. She loved him like his son. He was given princely luxuries. He had the number of beds, clothes, bowls for different occasions. Due to overfeeding by his mistress he became ugly and fatty. So her mistress took home to a vet. The vet knows the tricki real problem. He knows that Mrs. Pumphrey will not stop overfeeding tricki. Therefore out of concern, he took the dog. Mrs. Pumphrey fed him all favorite dishes. This overindulgence made tricki fat and lazy. He lost all energy. Dr. Herriot took interest in him and asked his mistress to cut down on sweet things. He was very greedy. He was fond of cream, cakes, and chocolates. He was not given plenty of exercises. A whole wardrobe was full of his clothing.
His mistress got upset when Tricki left eating, going for walks and doing anything. His mistress bewailed when he was taken to the hospital. He had no energy left. Dr. Herriot took a personal interest in him. He was only given plenty of water for two days. He regained energy and showed interest in other dogs. He enjoyed playing in their company. His mistress sent eggs and wine for him. They built him up and enriched his blood. He licked his mistress's face when he was taken back home. He was a kind, sensible and grateful dog.

Answer:-When the household dogs at the surgery came closer to Tricki and sniffed round him for a few seconds, they found him an uninteresting object. They got bored and left him alone thinking that he could not move. After a few days of strict diet, he recovered and enjoyed playing with them, being bowled over, tramped on and squashed every few minutes. Thus, he became an accepted member of the game.

Answer:Yes, Tricki was very happy to go home. When the dog was brought into the surgery, he was ill. But in spite of that the dog got cured in two days without any medication. The doctor provided proper diet to Tricki and regular exercise also helped a lot in his speedy recovery. The dog regained his best health and was no longer restless.
Now, I think Mrs Pumphrey may again go back to her old ways of treating Tricki with love and care or learning a lesson from what she experienced, she may mend her ways and make him an agile and healthier dog.

ANSWER:-The narrator is full of common sense. He was very concerned for Tricki when he saw its appearance. He immediately told Mrs Pumphrey to stop giving it food and sweets, and to take it out for daily walks. When she called him to describe Tricki’s deteriorating condition, he immediately took the dog with him to the surgery. He took good care of it all the while and helped it recover completely.
He could be called tactful as he enjoyed the eggs, wine and brandy that Mrs Pumphrey had brought for the dog. He was even tempted to keep Tricki as a permanent guest in order to continue enjoying these luxuries. However, he was a good man. Thus, he called Mrs Pumphrey and told her to take the dog home when it had fully recovered.

I would have also not consumed Tricki’s share of eggs, wine, and brandy sent by Mrs. Pumphrey.
